Pharmaceutical Injuries Due to Low T Therapy: Los Angeles & Nationwide
Lawsuit for Dangerous Low Testosterone Therapy Side Effects
Many testosterone drugs have been linked to serious health complications including heart attacks, stroke, blood clots and prostate cancer. Low Testosterone, or “Low T”, therapy was supposed to be a quick-fix, a cure-all for the more unsatisfying aspects of growing older. Increased sex drive, increased muscle mass, more energy and improved moods — the commercials said taking testosterone could better our lives, for the rest of our lives. What they failed to mention fully were the dangerous side effects caused by testosterone therapy for Low T.
The Dangers of Low Testosterone Pills or Therapy
Emerging research shows that testosterone replacement therapy may cause debilitating side effects, such as heart attack, stroke or pulmonary embolism. A peer-reviewed study showed that men who underwent testosterone replacement therapy could seriously increase their chances of heart attack or other cardiovascular issues.
Testosterone Replacement Therapy is approved by the FDA to treat conditions associated with a deficiency or absence of endogenous testosterone, primacy hypogonadism, and hypogonadotropic hypogonadism.
Recent studies show that an estimated four percent of all men over 60 years old have used testosterone replacement therapy. While testosterone treatments are approved by the FDA for use in men with a deficiency or absence of testosterone, a study showed that nearly a quarter of men prescribed testosterone treatments never had their testosterone levels checked.
Companies that manufacture testosterone treatments have marketed the drugs as a cure for low testosterone or “Low T.” Drug manufacturers have made claims that restoring levels of testosterone using their products can improve quality of life and cure memory loss and erectile dysfunction.
Prescription testosterone products may include the following low testosterone supplements: AndroDerm, AndroGel, Axiron, Bio-T-Gel, Delatestryl, Depo-Testosterone, Fortesta, Striant, Testim and Testopel.
